All about me and why I chose UX Design
Hi, my name is Heather Riggins, I have a strong background as a Customer Support agent for 10+ years. My previous jobs in the Large Market Insurance and Medical industries have allowed me to understand pain points from the customer perspective as well as the needs of the business. I am a creative and empathetic person, so my transition to UX/UI design was my next logical step to achieve my goals providing me with a fulfilling career and allowing me to help people and businesses alike. I want to grow in the tech sector, either AR/VR technologies, Information Architecture, or technical advancement Industries.
While pursuing graphic design via Udemy courses I found the practice of UX/UI design, I went on to find Career Foundry to really get in-depth knowledge and hands-on implementation of the skills needed to craft an outstanding product and begin my full career change. I have a true passion for making products that are effective in solving everyday problems. In my previous industries, the top complaint was the difficulty of understanding the applications that were needed to perform simple tasks. My overall goal is to utilize the knowledge I have learned and grow it with industry experience aiding my abilities to be utilized in a senior position. My niche within UX/UI design is information architecture I love breaking down each path a user could take and helping them by keeping the options to a minimum. I find that I want to create every day as I enjoy art, imagination, and most of all, puzzles.
