Tools: Adobe XD
Project Type: Redesign ( non-paid freelance )
Problem Statment
Redesign to increase useability and brand identity. We will know this is successful when users can list the services offered and find people within the amateur dog show community.
Competitive Analisis /Research
I utilized researching two different competitors that specialize in purebred puppies. I then looked into social media platform structures and researched amateur dog shows. I then spoke with the P.L.B.K. company's founder to better understand the overall vision.
Presonas /Target Audiance
Based on the information, we are looking at individuals seeking to find their new family member from a secure and reputable source while also providing breeders a way to show what services they offer via connecting with amateur dog shows and others within the purebred dog community.
User Flows
We focus on two main user flows: individuals wanting to purchase a puppy and breeders offering puppies or breeding services.
Redesign
Based on all of the data, I was able to put together the target audience and establish a base to work from.
Before
After
When looking from left to right top to bottom, I am focused on addressing the clarity of what is being offered by the business, as well as provide clear easy navigation. I changed the landing page to give an indication that a dog service is being offered and kept with the tones and colors the client wanted. I moved the navigation bar up so it is the first thing that the user will engage with. Moving down the page, I felt the need to bring in a company reflection as it is family owned and run in place of the solo self-presentaion . Going further down the page, I incorporated a services listing based on the full set of services currently offered . I finalized the page to reflect that of happy clients and associates to give the user a sense of relation and reassurance and allowing them to sign up to receive up to date knowledge about the company and offerings.
Before
After
Keeping with the design theme elements from the first page, I built out a listing page that would hold Listed Puppies, and Breeding services that can be filtered via what is being wanted I.E.: puppies and breed and gender.
Before
After
After descussions with the owner, I realized that a plan selection page was not reflected, so I built out a simple page so the user can compare and decide on what each plan offers.
Before
After
The Apparel page was originally designed in a user-friendly manner on inclusion of payment processing and cart; These are not shown as the owner still had decisions to make. I separated the reviews and added in the Stay in the know section as this can be utilized for promotions and events.
Before
After
Owner wanted to have a Media section , but did not have many Media files to offer so I kept the layout the same. However, I did advise that if there is not a large base of content to be shown, the Media and blog pages could be combined. This will aid in navigation funcionality and fill out the page to feel efficient.
Before
After
For the Blog Page, I wanted it to feel familiar and allow the user to see current and older information without scrolling excessivly.
Additonal Pages to the Flow for Users
On the P.L.B.K. Services page, I included a reflection of what users will see when looking further over a Puppie or breeding services' profile and added functionality for inquiry to the owner .
The Last additional feature added is an about page. This will re-feature the company info also located on the home page but, as the owner is waiting to showcase other family members for what they do in the company, I set up this page showing a video over what the company is about as well as each person's work within P.L.B.K.
